Fees for international students

Course fees are calculated as if a student undertakes one year of full-time study. This is called 1 x EFTSL (Equivalent Full Time Study Load). If course duration is less than one year, or the student studies less than a full-time study load, fees are adjusted accordingly.

The indicative total course fee is based on typical subject enrolments and does not take into account any advanced standing for prior studies.

Fees are reviewed annually by the University and vary depending on subjects within the course.

Other costs

Immunisation

Health Care Workers (HCW) may be exposed to, and transmit, vaccine-preventable diseases (VPDs). Maintenance of immunity to VPDs in the HCW population helps prevent transmission of VPDs to and from HCWs and patients (DHS, March 2000).

It is strongly recommend that students ensure that they are adequately immunised against common infectious diseases and have received recommended vaccines to improve resistance to infectious agents such as Hepatitis B. Applicants should read the Faculty Infectious Diseases and Immunisation Policy.

Some Health Care Agencies require students to produce evidence of vaccination status before commencing clinical placements. Students who are unable to satisfy health care agencies' requirements may be limited in their opportunities for clinical placements and progress in the course may be affected.

Police record check

Students are not charged for obtaining their Police Checks via the University of Melbourne Health Hub. For further information refer to the Clinical Placement Compliance information.

Working with Children check

Students who are undertaking clinical placements do not receive any payment and so are considered to be “volunteers” for the purposes of the WWC Check. No fee is charged for volunteers to obtain a WWC Check. For further information refer to the Clinical Placement Compliance information.

Books

It is recommended that you purchase the prescribed books for each subject, as they are constantly referred to throughout the course. Limited copies are available for loan from the University Library. You will receive a list of prescribed books at enrolment.
