Course Description

The Master of Sports Rehabilitation is specifically designed for exercise science graduates who have a minimum of three years relevant sports injury prevention and management experience. The degree is also open to doctors, physiotherapists, and podiatrists with a minimum of three years relevant sports medicine clinical experience. The degree has been developed for professionals who are passionate about sports and exercise and want to assist injured athletes back to performance health and drive best performance.

The course explores a range of rehabilitation areas across all aspects of athlete management to women’s health, neurology, musculoskeletal and global health. You’ll be able to select from a range of specialised subjects and learn from industry leaders. You’ll also have the opportunity to appraise authentic expert consultations of real clinical cases.

This course is 100% online and can be studied full-time or part-time with flexibility to personalise your learning experience to match your career goals.

Please note this course includes a pathway through a Specialist Certificate and Graduate Certificate in Sports Medicine.


As part of this course, you will engage with international and interdisciplinary best practice methods in managing active people and athletes. You’ll extend your practice in assessing and managing athletes of all ages and abilities across the health illness-performance spectrum, using a person-centred focus.

You’ll engage with contemporary approaches to sport, health and exercise as well as the influence of evidence informed practice and innovation on exercise participation and sport performance. You’ll approach this with evolving engagement with clinical practice guidelines and health policy.


The course has been designed specifically for exercise scientists, as well as doctors, physiotherapists and podiatrists with a minimum of three years relevant clinical experience. The course structure allows you to personalise your degree and design a program that suits your professional needs and career goals.


A Master in Sports Rehabilitation prepares graduates for a varied and dynamic career in both clinical and sports environments. This qualification further develops your capability to work in areas ranging from physical activity promotion, to enhancing active participation to supporting professional sport, and to help optimise health through a range of rehabilitation strategies and exercise plans.
